turnofthecentury: There, sure enough, the poor beast was, lying senseless on his back - Illustration for Beauty and the Beast - Walter Crane (1845-1915) It’s neat to see the beast as a boar - he’s so often illustrated/shown as lion-like (except in the Disney version, where he’s kind of in-between the two, now that I think of it).
